What a morning. I'll be honest, after a quick pint after work on Thursday somehow became rather a lot of pints, today was what you might call a challenging show. But we got through it, and it was a good one.
We played Found It, and the question was simple enough. How many handshakes happen if 100 people each shake hands with every other person exactly once? How many days in a leap year? How many continents? Add them all together and the total came to 5,323. I had Magna's own Lucy and Millie in the studio having a go, and I'll say this kindly, that first question absolutely floored them. They were miles off. But listener Martyn Sterland called it perfectly. 5,323 on the nose. The man is a maths genius, plain and simple.
Then we had Topical Tune, where I shared the story of a gran who bought a set of dentures on Facebook for £14.99 and ended up with something that looked like Haribo sweets and fell straight out of her mouth. You sent in your best song suggestions and they were brilliant. Marie in Boston went for The Rolling Stones, Karl in Lincoln picked Shania Twain, Toni in Lincoln chose Lily Allen's Smile, Fiona went for AC/DC, and Jenny in Brigg took the top spot with Roxette's The Look. Genuinely hard to argue with any of them.
