Audiences are invited to fly to Neverland this May as ACTion Community Theatre presents Wendy & Peter Pan by acclaimed playwright Ella Hickson at the Terry O’Toole Theatre.
Performances take place on Friday 29 May at 7:00pm, and Saturday 30 May at 2:30pm and 7:00pm.
Based on the beloved story by J. M. Barrie, this contemporary adaptation shifts the focus firmly onto Wendy Darling, offering a fresh and powerful perspective on the classic tale while retaining all the magic, adventure, pirates, and wonder audiences know and love. The production explores themes of growing up, grief, family, and imagination, creating a version of Peter Pan that is both playful and deeply moving.
Featuring a talented community cast ranging in age from just 14 upwards, the production showcases young performers working alongside experienced local actors in an ambitious and visually imaginative staging.
Originally commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Hickson’s adaptation has been praised for bringing a modern perspective to the classic story while preserving its heart and sense of wonder.
