Lincoln Scouts St George’s Day Parade 2026

April 19 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
1,800 Lincoln Scouts to Celebrate Unity, Service, and Tradition at St George’s Day Parade
  • Lincoln Scouts set to parade through Lincoln and fill Lincoln Cathedral for service.
  • Scouts’ founder Baden Powell chose St George to be their Patron Saint because he felt the qualities of the legend were the same qualities that reflected a good Scout.
  • Scouts of all ages will renew their promise and look ahead to making the community a better place together.
This Sunday, 19th April, over 1,800 Lincoln Scouts aged 4 to 25, alongside their dedicated adult volunteers, will proudly take to the streets of up-hill Lincoln for the annual St George’s Day Parade – one of the longest running traditions that takes place in the city
Starting from The Lawns, the parade will make its way through Lincoln Castle and across the cobbled streets of Bailgate, led by the energising sounds of two marching bands and colour party, with a crowd of over 3,000 spectators expected to cheer them on.
The parade will culminate in a powerful and moving service at Lincoln Cathedral, where young people will have the opportunity to renew their Scout Promise in front of family, friends, and community leaders.
The service will be held in the presence of the Mayor and Sheriff of Lincoln, making this a true celebration of community, commitment, and citizenship.
Quote – Lee Evans, Lincoln Scouts Lead Volunteer:
“St George’s Day is always a special moment for our district. It’s one of the few times we see every part of our Scouting family come together, from our youngest Squirrels taking part in their first parade, right through to our older Network members. Their energy, pride, and sense of belonging show exactly what Scouting is all about.
As one of the longest running traditions within Lincoln City, what makes the event truly remarkable is the dedication of our adult volunteers. They give their time, skills, and enthusiasm so that young people aged four to twenty‑five can discover adventure, build confidence, and make memories that will stay with them for life. Seeing all our sections marching side by side is a powerful reminder of the community we’ve built together. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone who has played a part in making this celebration such a vibrant and joyful occasion.”
Parade Start Time: 13:00 PM starting at The Lawns. (public welcome to watch parade) Cathedral Service: (For Lincoln Scouts Members)
