Two friends from Grantham are preparing to take on one of their toughest challenges yet — running the entire Lincolnshire stretch of the King Charles III England Coast Path in just two days, while raising money for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
Luke Davies and Kennzo Southwell, both in their late 30s, will attempt to cover the 196km (122 miles) route from Sutton Bridge to the Humber Bridge on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August.
The pair have spent the past seven to eight months training for the challenge and will be running for around 10 to 12 hours each day as they make their way along the Lincolnshire coast.
The challenge will begin at Sutton Bridge before taking them through the county, with the runners also planning to take part in Boston Parkrun on Saturday morning before continuing towards Skegness and eventually the Humber.
Their goal is not only to complete the demanding route, but to raise as much money as possible for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance and shine a light on the lifesaving work carried out by its crews across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Luke and Kennzo are hoping their challenge will encourage people to get behind the charity and help raise awareness of the vital service it provides.
The pair said they were looking forward to putting months of preparation to the test, while acknowledging the scale of the challenge ahead.
With the run now just days away, they are inviting local people to follow their progress, share their fundraising efforts and support the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
The runners are also available for interviews and photographs before the challenge, as well as updates and pictures from the route throughout the weekend.
