We kicked things off with a cracking household headline. Our very own Aaron came home from a night shift, thought he was safe to get his head down, and stripped off completely before climbing into bed. What he hadn't clocked was that the window cleaner was already outside, mid-job, getting a view that was absolutely not on the booking form. Apparently both of them just sort of froze and then carried on as if nothing had happened. Aaron is now firmly checking the cleaning schedule before he does anything else, and I'm told the window cleaner may be renegotiating his rates. You couldn't make it up.
We also got into the Finishing Off Game, and today's stat threw up a good one. Thirty-seven percent of kids have accidentally left their lunchbox on the school bus at some point. That sparked a brilliant little conversation about school bus life, and honestly, we could have talked about it for another hour. There's a whole unwritten rulebook on that bus, isn't there. The front seats when you're little, and then the slow, hard-earned migration to the back as you get older. A genuine rite of passage for so many of us growing up around here.
Brilliant fun from start to finish, and a big thank you to everyone who got involved today.
