Lincoln Runner Takes on London Marathon 2026 for Sophie’s Journey

A Lincoln man is preparing to take on the UK’s most iconic race to support a cause close to home.

Darran Campbell will be running the London Marathon 2026 in aid of Sophie’s Journey, a Lincoln-based charity that provides vital support to children with cancer and their families.

Sophie’s Journey was founded in memory of seven-year-old Sophie Robinson and continues to do incredible work across Lincolnshire, offering practical, emotional and financial support to families facing the unimaginable. The charity helps to ease some of the pressures that come with a childhood cancer diagnosis, ensuring families can focus on what matters most.

Darran says he is “incredibly proud” to be fundraising for such a meaningful local cause.

“I’m excited to be running the London Marathon 2026 in support of Sophie’s Journey. They do incredible work supporting children with cancer and their families, and I’m proud to be raising funds to help them continue this important work.”

Training is already underway as Darran prepares for the 26.2-mile challenge, and he is now calling on the Lincolnshire community to get behind him.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards supporting families across the county who are navigating childhood cancer.
