Residents aged 50 and over are being invited to share their views in a new survey to help shape the future of services and support across South Kesteven.
South Kesteven District Council is launching its latest Age Friendly Communities Survey to hear directly from people aged 50+ about what matters most to them as they live, work and grow older in the district.
The survey asks residents about key aspects of everyday life, including housing, access to services and facilities, transport and connectivity, opportunities to stay active and socialise, and how age friendly the district feels overall.
Feedback will directly inform SKDC’s Age Friendly Action Plan, helping the council and its partners prioritise practical improvements and targeted support that make a measurable difference to residents’ quality of life.
Cllr Richard Cleaver, Cabinet Member for Property and Public Engagement, said: “We want South Kesteven to be a place where people can age well, stay connected with the people and services they value, and continue to enjoy fulfilling lives.
“This survey gives people aged 50 and over a direct voice in shaping the future of our district. Whether it’s transport, housing, social opportunities or simply getting information in the way that suits you, your experiences matter.
“The more responses we receive, the better we can plan services and support that reflect local needs and priorities.”
The council was accepted into the UK Network of Age friendly Communities in April 2025.
Since then, it has been working alongside Lincolnshire’s district councils and the Lincolnshire Health and Wellbeing Board to develop a coordinated, county-wide response to the opportunities and challenges presented by an ageing population, sharing learning and best practice.
