The Magna Charter: The First 10 Laws of Magna Radio

Every great civilisation has rules. Some were carved into stone tablets. Others were written into constitutions. Here at Magna Radio, we have The Magna Charter.

The Magna Charter is the sacred rulebook of Magna Radio. It exists to bring justice to the everyday annoyances we all experience but rarely talk about.

The idea was born during Adam’s show on Magna Mix, when everyday irritations were put on trial and listeners helped decide the punishment. No courts, no lawyers, just a bit of humour and some light-hearted justice delivered by the mighty kingdom of Magna listeners across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.

Break one of these laws and you will face the ultimate punishment: gentle judgement from everyone listening.

Here are the first ten laws that now form the foundation of Magna justice.

Law 1
Crime: Clapping when the plane lands.
Punishment: You are last to disembark. Every passenger and crew member leaves before you while you reflect quietly on your actions.

Law 2
Crime: Making a terrible joke about tossing pancakes.
Punishment: You are denied a single pancake. Instead, you must clear everyone’s leftovers and scrub the pans. This ruling is final.

Law 3
Crime: Putting an empty carton of milk back in the fridge.
Punishment: You must get on all fours and moo sadly. You are then responsible for the next tea round for everyone.

Law 4
Crime: Pressing the lift button more than once.
Punishment: You must explain to everyone nearby what you believed pressing it again would achieve. You will then remain in the lift for ten minutes, apologising to every person who enters.

Law 5
Crime: Allowing your phone to ring in the cinema.
Punishment: You must stand while the rest of the cinema pelts you with popcorn.

Law 6
Crime: Failing to give a thankful wave, or even a thumbs up, to the driver who let you through.
Punishment: You must pull over and stand at a busy junction, waving thank you to every single car for two hours.

Law 7
Crime: Using speakerphone in public.
Punishment: Anyone nearby is legally entitled to join the conversation.

Law 8
Crime: Stopping suddenly at the top of an escalator.
Punishment: You must ride the escalator up and down for thirty minutes while apologising to strangers as you pass.

Law 9
Crime: Replying all unnecessarily.
Punishment: You are banned from the Reply All button for thirty days and must provide snacks for the entire office.

Law 10
Crime: Microwaving fish at work.
Punishment: You are banned from the microwave and reassigned to cold lunches only.

These are only the first ten laws of the Magna Charter, and the list continues to grow every week on Adam’s show as listeners send in new offences that deserve justice.

Listen to Adam’s show weekdays from 10am on Magna Mix to hear the latest Magna Charter rulings.

And remember, the Magna Charter is always watching.
