Gainsborough marks Armed Forces Day with a full-day public event at The Levellings on Love Lane, 10:00 through 17:00. Parades, marching bands, military display vehicles, family activities and a service of remembrance, all free, all welcome.
The Royal British Legion and the local cadet forces lead the parade through the town centre, finishing on The Levellings. Static displays from the Army, Royal Navy and RAF, with serving personnel and veterans on hand to chat through the afternoon. Stalls from local service charities raise funds for the SSAFA and the Royal British Legion.
Family-friendly throughout, plenty of food vans, free parking on adjacent streets and a shuttle from Gainsborough Central. Service of remembrance at 15:00, closing addresses at 16:30.
