Friday Show Recaps – on Magna Radio

Friday on Magna Radio brought a great mix of music, conversation and end-of-week energy across the station.

Mark wrapped up his final show before a well-earned break with The Six Thirty Two featuring a double play from The Police.

First Words had listeners on top form, with Cher’s Believe correctly identified by Stuart in Caistor, Vicky, Lisa and more, while Just a Sec saw Metro Station’s Shake It guessed correctly by a mystery listener whose number ends in 687.

Mind the Gap concluded this week’s run, with the missing word “attainable” from the Paddy McGuinness clip correctly guessed by Simon, Rick and Kel.

The Lincs Link connected Wham, Sugababes and Swing Out Sister through the theme of golf. Well done to Jodie, Paul, Stacey, Tammi and everyone else who got it right.

Firm Favourites at 9am were chosen by the team at Alpha Paving, adding their selections to the morning playlist.

Earlier in the day, John brought plenty of relatable chat to kick things off. A visit to his parents before the show raised an unexpected question after finding his dad sat on a chair sorting through the fridge. It sparked debate among listeners about whether that’s normal behaviour.

With warm weather on the way, John also got people talking about their plans for the weekend. With temperatures set to hit around 20 degrees, he’s planning a long walk followed by baby back ribs on the barbecue.

Topical Tune was inspired by a story about a businessman suing an airline after cutting his finger mid-flight, leading to a countdown of themed tracks:

5 Kylie – Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (Grant in Ollerton)
4 Tom Grennan – Drama Queen (Loz)
3 PP Arnold – The First Cut Is The Deepest (Oliver in Newark)
2 Eminem ft. Rihanna – Love the Way You Lie (Tracy in Boston)
1 Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love (Jayne in Saxilby)

Mark now heads off on holiday for a couple of weeks and will be back on 11th May, with Jo and Sparky taking over the show next week.

A strong end to the week on Magna Radio, with plenty more to come.
