New music this week

Taylor Swift “Patient Zero”
UK Number 1
One of four extra songs on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, released on 25 September. Taylor wrote it herself, and the video stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.

Holly Humberstone “Too Cute To Be Lonely”
Local: raised in Grantham
Grantham's own Holly Humberstone heads for the dancefloor with a euphoric alt-pop track inspired by ABBA, Madonna and Robyn. It's from Cruel World…So It Ends, the deluxe edition of her second album, out 13 November with five new songs. She supports Gracie Abrams in December, then tours the UK and Ireland in January.

U2 “Silencio”
The second single from U2's 2026 album Carnaval de Luz, produced by Jacknife Lee with extra production from OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Bono and The Edge share vocals, and the video was filmed in Mexico City.

Jungle “Sunshine”
The title track from the London duo's fifth album mixes soul, funk, disco and electronic sounds, with vocals from J Lloyd, Tom McFarland and Lydia Kitto. The band say it's all about light, vibration and energy.

Freya Skye “bad taste”
It began as an acoustic moment at Freya's first New York headline show and became a fan favourite on her sold-out Stars Align Tour. Out now, with a story-led video and a translucent red 7-inch.

James Blunt “Circles”
The opening track from James Blunt's eighth album Airplane Mode, inspired by the late-90s and early-2000s music that shaped his early career.

Skerryvore “Singing Up In Heaven”
A folk song from the band's forthcoming album Beautiful Mistakes, written by Alec Dalglish and Jamie Squire as a tribute to Alec's late father, and including a recording of him singing. Accordion, fiddle and bagpipes all the way through.
