A company that designs and builds timber bridges, boardwalks and jetties has moved from Lincolnshire County Council's Mercury House business centre in Gainsborough into its first ever factory, in Skellingthorpe.

Sarum Hardwood Structures has been going for more than 40 years but has never had its own manufacturing base. UK sales manager Jason Lumley joined in 2022 and started out working from his spare bedroom.

The business then moved into a small office at Mercury House, quickly expanding into a bigger space as it took on an in-house designer. Jason said the centre let the team focus on growing rather than worrying about internet, security or facilities: "You could just turn up and do your job."

The new Skellingthorpe site will help the company bring more work into Lincolnshire and take on new staff.
