South Holland District Council is pleased to announce the introduction of two new Community Safety Officers, funded through the Spalding Neighbourhood Board, to help tackle anti-social behaviour and improve community safety across Spalding.
The new officers will provide a visible and reassuring presence across Spalding, working closely with residents, businesses, Lincolnshire Police and partner organisations to address community safety concerns and tackle anti-social behaviour.
Carrying out regular uniformed patrols throughout the town, the officers will help identify and resolve local issues while providing reassurance to those who live, work and visit the area.
The team will also support vulnerable individuals by connecting them with the appropriate services and ensuring those most in need can access the help and support available to them.
In addition, the Community Safety Officers will work alongside local businesses, support community events and contribute to initiatives aimed at creating a safer, more welcoming and vibrant town centre for everyone.
Councillor Anthony Casson, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection at South Holland District Council, said: "The introduction of these Community Safety Officers is an important step in helping us create a safer and more welcoming environment across Spalding.
“Their visible presence will provide reassurance to residents and businesses, while their work with partners and community groups will help tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
"By working closely with residents, businesses and partner organisations, they will help improve feelings of safety and contribute to a cleaner, greener and more welcoming town centre.
“We encourage residents to engage with the officers and report any concerns so we can continue working together to improve community safety across Spalding."
The new Community Safety Officer roles have been funded through the Spalding Neighbourhood Board as part of ongoing investment aimed at supporting the town's future and improving the quality of life for residents.
