The volunteers behind the famous Norton Disney dodecahedron find are heading back into the trenches, thanks to a £6,000 grant from Lincolnshire County Council.
The Norton Disney History and Archaeology Group will run another community dig at Potter Hill in June 2027, continuing its work on the site of Roman pottery kilns. Past excavations have turned up pottery from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, as well as bone and metalwork.
The grant came from the council's Strategic Grant Fund and was put forward by Cllr Marianne Overton MBE, county councillor for Bassingham and Welbourn, who praised the group's professional approach.
Group secretary Richard Parker said they are certain there is "a lot more to find" and thanked the local community for its support.
