Gainsborough East community projects

Community groups in Gainsborough East have shared a range of West Lindsey District Council grants this year, from a few hundred pounds to £10,000.

Gainsborough Men's Shed received £10,000 to help run events, activities and support. The 3rd Gainsborough Scout Group got £5,000 to refurbish its toilets, and Gainsborough Town Tennis Club was given £1,230 to resurface a court and extend its patio.

There was money for celebrations too. Laybo's Legacy received £2,500 towards Laybo's Fest, and GAPA was given two £400 grants towards its 50th birthday.

Ward councillor Matthew Boles said the number of groups putting time and energy into the area shows "a real sense of community" in Gainsborough East.
