If you're planning a trip to the tip before Christmas, there's a change coming.
Lincolnshire County Council is introducing a booking system at all of its household waste recycling centres. Bookings open on Monday 30 November, and from Monday 7 December you'll need one to visit.
The council says the sites are getting busier, and at peak times lots of vehicles arrive together, causing queues on site and on the roads outside. Booking is meant to spread visits more evenly through the day.
How it works:
- Book up to two weeks ahead and you'll get a 15-minute arrival slot
- Choose the site, date and time, your vehicle type and what you're bringing
- Confirmation comes by email or text, and you can change or cancel it
- Some same-day slots will be available
- If you can't book online, you can book through the county council's customer call centre
Cllr Danny Brookes, executive member for environment, said: "This isn't about stopping people using our recycling centres – there will be sufficient capacity for the number of residents currently visiting our sites – it's about managing those visits better."
