What would bring the Old Sidings back to life? North Kesteven District Council wants to hear from you.

The Old Sidings is the area of disused buildings and land around Sleaford's railway crossing, including the privately owned Bass Maltings. The council is drawing up a 20-year masterplan for it with architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, and a survey asking what you value about Sleaford and which uses would best regenerate the area is open until 22 November.

There's also a chance to share your memories. Stories from the Sidings runs at Cogglesford Watermill from Friday 13 to Monday 16 November, midday to 3.30pm. Bring photos and stories of the Maltings, the railway, the Carre Arms Hotel, riverside industries and local businesses, and they can be scanned and recorded on the spot.

Council leader Cllr Richard Wright said: "I'd encourage everyone to fill out our survey, to let us know the uses that you think could best regenerate the Old Sidings area and how they might complement the ways you use and value Sleaford town centre."

A second round of consultation, with more detailed options, is planned for early next year. The survey can be found through the North Kesteven District Council website.
